Online child sexual harassment and abuse are among the most serious problems of our time. In Finland, one in five children has experienced sexual violence.

What does Nettivihje do? 

Online child sexual abuse is one of the most serious problems of our time. It has severe consequences on both individuals and society as a whole.

We aim to combat and prevent child sexual harassment, the solicitation of children for sexual purposes (grooming) and child sexual abuse, especially in digital environments. Our goal is to speed up the removal of child sexual material (CSAM) from the internet and prevent children and young people from becoming victims of sexual violence. This work is based on every child’s right to be protected from violence.

Hotline material analysis work

Finnish Hotline Nettivihje is a tip service where anyone can make a report if they suspect they have come across material or activity related to sexual violence against children online.

We analyse thousands of tips every year and pass them on to the National Bureau of Investigation.

Our goal is that children, guardians and professionals working with children have sufficient knowledge about sexual violence against children and how to act when faced with it.
