Finnish Hotline’s Annual Report 2025

In 2025, Finnish Hotline Nettivihje analyzed a total of nearly 900,000 images and videos, of which nearly 655,000 were assessed as containing material depicting child sexual abuse. The total amount of material analyzed increased by 43 percent from 2024, and the amount of material evidencing child sexual abuse increased by 40 percent from the previous year.

In 2025, Nettivihje received 20,004 tips regarding suspected child sexual abuse. At the time of evaluation, 83% of the tips had already been removed from the internet. The material was highly likely to be evidence of child sexual abuse, as most of it came from another hotline in the INHOPE network.

In the reported material, the vast majority (53%) of children depicted in images evidencing sexual abuse were between the ages of 3 and 13, and the majority (83%) of the children in the images were girls.

In 2025, Nettivihje received 141 tips regarding suspected activities related to child sexual abuse, such as grooming, and the distribution or possession of child sexual abuse material.

In its proactive work, Nettivihje processed 3,661 images or web addresses depicting child sexual abuse.

In addition to hotline work, Nettivihje’s experts trained 2,136 professionals, encountered 3,598 guardians at online parent evenings, and reached out to over 200 decision-makers and authorities.

Nettivihje works to prevent and combat child sexual abuse in collaboration with the international hotline network INHOPE and the Finnish Central Bureau of Investigation.
