Services for children

  • Poikien Puhelin is a helpline telephone and web service for boys and young men. If you want to speak English, call Tuesdays 15:30-18:00 or Thursdays 13:00–15:30 on 0800 94884.
  • Online Shelter is an online service maintained by the Federation of Mother and Child Homes and Shelters. The Federation of Mother and Child Homes and Shelters is a nationwide child welfare organisation that helps children and families in difficult and insecure situations and prevents domestic violence.
  • Victim Support Finland (RIKU) offers practical advice and psychological support for those that have become a victim of crime or attempted crime, their loved ones and witnesses of criminal cases. They help the victim of crime operate according to his/her rights and we support him/her in coping with the experience of crime.
  • Finnish Red Cross Youth Shelters offers support for managing everyday life, family conflicts or other problems for young people or a loved ones of a young person. 

Services for adults

Services for people who have sexual interest in children

  • SeriE-hankessa provides support for people in Finland who experience sexual or romantic interest in children. SeriE support services can be accessed anonymously.
  • Välitä! provides crisis intervention and support groups for victims and perpetrators of sexual violence as well as their friends and family. The services are confidential, free of charge and open to all.
  • Seritatyö provides low threshold service to prevent sexual offences. You have anonymous, free of charge possibility to talk about your situation and your life stage with professional. You can also talk how you can prevent troubling situations in the future.
  • The Finnish Foundation for Supporting Ex-offenders (Kriminaalihuollon tukisäätiö) is a national expert organisation and service provider that promotes the coping and life management of people with criminal records and their loved ones. 

Other services for adults

  • Crisis Center Monika provides help for all women with an immigrant background, having experienced violence or a threat of it. Services are free of charge, and you don’t have to tell your name. Services are provided in following languages: Arabian, Dari, English, Spanish, Farsi, Persian, French, Finnish, Belarussian, and Russian.
  • Miessakit Association is a non-governmental expert organization established to support the mental, psychological and social growth of men. The organization complements the existing crisis services available for men and promotes nonviolent family life.
  • Nollalinja is a nationwide free-of-charge helpline for anyone who has experienced violence or a threat of violence in a close relationship. Nollalinja is also available for family members of victims of violence and for professionals and officials who require advice in their work with customers.
