What does Nettivihje do? 

Online child sexual abuse is one of the most serious problems of our time. It has severe consequences on both individuals and society as a whole.

We aim to combat and prevent child sexual harassment, the solicitation of children for sexual purposes (grooming) and child sexual abuse, especially in digital environments. Our goal is to speed up the removal of child sexual material (CSAM) from the internet and prevent children and young people from becoming victims of sexual violence. This work is based on every child’s right to be protected from violence.

of children who took part in our report survey said that a person whom they suspected to be an adult or someone at least 5 years older than the child had been in contact with them online.

Hotline material analysis work

Finnish Hotline Nettivihje is a tip service where anyone can make a report if they suspect they have come across material or activity related to sexual violence against children online.

We analyse thousands of tips every year and pass them on to the National Bureau of Investigation.

Increasing knowledge and understanding

Our goal is that children, guardians and professionals working with children have sufficient knowledge about sexual violence against children and how to act when faced with it.

We do long-term advocacy work so that national and international laws and regulations take into account sexual violence against children, especially in the online environment, and the rights of the child.
