4.Legal basis for processing personal data

The user gives consent to save and handle personal data (name, e-mail, phone number, employer) by registering for an event and giving personal data via e.g. Webropol, e-mail or Microsoft Forms.

5.Intended use of personal data

Collecting the contact details of people participating in the events of Save the Children Finland for the purpose of informing about the event, inviting them to the event, organizing the event and collecting feedback.

8.Protection of personal data and information security

The information contained in the register is handled confidentially. Electronically processed data is properly protected from outsiders by firewalls and technical protection measures. The databases and their backups are located in locked rooms and only certain pre-designated persons can access the data. Hard copies of the materials are stored in locked rooms.

The register is only used by the persons of the data controller or companies acting on its behalf, whose job description includes its use. Persons belonging to the organization of the data controller have a personal username and password for the register. Users are bound by a duty of confidentiality.

No regular transfers of personal data. Data is not transferred outside the EU or the EEA.

A maximum of two years from the receiving the data from the data subject.

11.Rights of the data subject

The registered person has the right at any time in accordance with the applicable data protection legislation:

i. get information about the processing of their personal data
ii. get access to their own data and check their personal data processed by Save the Children Finland
iii. demand the correction and completion of inaccurate and incorrect personal data
iv. demand the deletion of their personal data, if there are legal grounds for doing so
v. withdraw one’s consent and object to the processing of personal data to the extent to which the processing of personal data is based on the data subject’s consent
vi. receive their personal data in a machine-readable format and transfer this data to another registrar to the extent to which Save the Children Finland processes this personal data on the basis of the data subject’s consent, and the processing is carried out automatically
vii. to demand restriction of personal data processing
viii. complain to the supervisory authority

  • Each data subject has the right to file a complaint with a relevant supervisory authority or the supervisory authority of the EU member state where the registered person lives or works, if the data subject considers that one’s personal data has not been processed in accordance with the applicable data protection policy.
