Support children with us

Save the Children Finland is an open non-governmental organisation whose work pivots on the efforts of its members. Your membership in Save the Children Finland means that you stand clearly for children’s rights. Our goal is to increase appreciation and respect for children, learn from children by listening to them, and give children better opportunities and hope for a good life.

Save the Children Finland abides in all its work by the fundamental principles laid out in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and endeavours to secure these rights in as many ways as possible. Every child has the right to a good life, growth and development, the right to equality with other children, and the right to have his or her own opinions.

The International Save the Children Alliance is the world’s biggest politically and religiously independent international pro-children movement. Save the Children Finland is one of the Alliance’s 29 member organisations.

Members

Private persons may become members of our local associations, which form together the Save the Children Finland umbrella federation. At present, our organisation has 93 local associations.

Minor and young adult members

Children (aged less than 18) and young adults (aged from 18 to 28) may join Save the Children Finland by becoming members of either the local associations’ youth divisions or our independent youth associations. The first youth associations were established this year in Oulu and Joensuu.
